  1. Dear Pastor Smith,

William Carey once said, “I will go down into the pit, if you will hold the rope.”

There is estimated to be 3 million souls in Lithuania and only 1% have heard and trusted in the hope of Jesus. You know, in your own backyard, there are boundless souls who are dying under the wrath of God. The difference is, praise be to God, you are there in your neighborhood. However, most of Lithuania has no access to the church. The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few (Matt. 9:37). How will they hear unless someone preaches (Rom. 10:14-15)?

We are the Bird Family. I am Pastor Jordan, an ordained minister, and I currently serve as the outreach pastor at York Baptist Church in Milan, MI. My wife, Jessica, is a stay-at-home mom with our two children, Josephine, and John, as well as my coworker in ministry. God has given us a tremendous burden to preach the gospel in Lithuania.

Our mission is the same one our God and King gave 2,000 years ago, to go and preach the gospel into all the world (Matt. 28:18-20, Acts 1:8). For us, it has been given to go to Lithuania. Just as Paul was called to the gentiles, we are called to the Lithuanians (Acts 9:15). Like Jesus, we have compassion because they are like sheep without a shepherd (Matt. 9:36). They need the hope of the Savior (1 Pet. 1:3).

In the same spirit as Carey, we are willing to dangle into the darkness of Europe, but we need people to come alongside us and hold the rope. Just like Antioch sent out Paul and Barnabas, we need churches to send us so that Christ can be proclaimed in Lithuania (Acts 13:1-3). It is our eager plea that your church would join with us and hold the rope. We also recognize that partnership goes two ways. We would love to come along side to serve and encourage you as well (1 Th 5:11).

Firstly, how can we be praying for you? Secondly, we would love to set up a time to share more about what God is doing in Lithuania. Would you be open to setting up a phone or video call? We love getting to know pastors and look forward to hearing from you. God bless you and your ministry.

    In Christ,
    Jordan and Jessica Bird

    1. Hello, I visited your Facebook post of your services and looked over your webpage. I see you are a GARB church as well. What is it that you’re looking for from our church. To present a ministry? Support? Just to share? My name is Ray Morse and I’m a deacon here at the church. Please feel free to contact Casey Smith at First Baptist Church of Petoskey as well. 231-347-2038.

  2. Hello, I am Amy Evans with The Salvation Army and I would like to send you information to share about a Community Christmas Carol event coming in December. May I please have your email address so I can attach the flyer picture?

  3. Hello,

How are you doing? I am looking to give away my late husband’s Yamaha baby grand piano to a passionate instrument lover, so please let me know if you will take it or have someone who will care for it.

    Regards,

    Barbara
